How to make orange spritz cookies? Simple! Orange Spritz Cookies (T&T)Posted by BettyBoop at recipegoldmine.com 10/27/2001 3:02 pmThere is one rule which I live by when making spritz cookies. It is a tried and true method of achieving consistency every time.1) Don’t grease cookie sheets.2) Add flour gradually.3) Check for dough consistency before adding all of the flour.4) If dough is too dry, add 1 egg yolk.5) If dough is too soft, chill 30 to 60 minutes.Makes approximately 60 to 70 cookies.I love to dip half of the cookie in some melted bittersweet chocolate. The combination of orange and chocolate just compliments each other.1 cup butter flavored Crisco shortening1/2 cup granulated sugar1/2 cup light brown sugar1 tablespoon orange juice (I use frozen concentrate thawed and not diluted)1 egg1 teaspoon orange zest2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour (sift first, then measure)Dash of salt1/4 teaspoon baking sodaPreheat oven to 350 degrees F.Cream butter until light. Gradually add sugar and light brown sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add orange juice and mix well. Add egg and orange zest until combined.Sift flour, salt and baking soda together and while machine is running on low, gradually add the flour mixture until totally combined.Fill press and form desired shapes onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake approximately 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned around edges. Vintage Nambe Dish Elliptical Eames Era Super Vuntage Nambe Dish Elliptical Eames Era Super Metalware.

What Is The Progressive Resistance System?

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

The article “What is the Progressive Resistance System?” talks about build muscle, it has been created by Troy Pearsall.The progressive resistance system states “In oredr to continually see progress (muscle development) the intensity of the workout must increase as your body adapts to the workout. The progressive resistance system is the only system I use and the reason in ovbious. All otehr system evolves around the principles of progressive resistance. I don’t subscribe to other workout systems because they may cause ijnury and I have had enough in my time. Most champion bodybuilders follow the progressive resistance system in one form or another. They may employ other principles, like superset, tri-sets, giant sets, drops sets, railroad (this old school) flush sets pre-exhaust sets, and post-exhaust sets and numerous others but the system remains the progressive resistance system.
Simple a system is the application of principles, for insatnce. If I wish to continue to see results I must increase the intensity of my workuot as my body adapts to the previous load. (Progressive Resistance System)There are five ways to increase the intensity of a workout;
• 1. Increase the weight being used for a given exercise,
• 2. Incresae the amount of repetitions used in a given set.
• 3. Decraese the amount of time resting between sets.
• 4. Icnrease the amount of sets used during a given workout.(volume training)
• 5. And of course any combination of the above three.
For those with less than a year of training increase intensity by increasing weight only.So if you’re applying one of the five principles with the goal of increaisng the intensity to match your body’s adaptation to pervious stress of exercise, then you’re using the progressive resistance system.The repetitions ranges determine the weight not the weight determine the reps. what I mean by that is that the goal is a rep range, when doing the progressive resistance system, not the weight used. For instance, if you can only do 1-4 reps on your first set then you’re a power lifter not a boydbuilder. If you can only do 5-8 reps during your first set then you’re doing hevay weight. If you can only do 9-12 reps during your first set then you’re lifting modertae weight. And if you can only do 15- 25 reps then you’re lifting lgiht weight. Of cousre you understand that if you can only do these number on your first set then the numbers get less and less on all the sets that follow. For successful leg training you need more reps than the rest of the body. Heavy weight would be 8 to 12 reps, moderate would be 15-25 reps and light would be 24 to 40 reps (yes I said 40!)This is part one of a two part article on the progressive resistance systemAbout Author

Chinese Beef Strip Marinade

Sunday, November 9th, 2008

How to make chinese beef strip marinade? Simple! Chinese Beef Strip MarinadePosted by liz at recipegoldmine.com  May 26, 2001Source: Cookin’ DadAs you may already know, I was busy most of this week and last weekend entertaining out-of-town guests which ate up all of my spare time In spite of being busy, I did, however, have a chance to get in the kitchen. This is one thing I came up with the other evening. My wife and kids liked it. Hope you do too.1 1/2 pounds 1 to 1 1/2-inch pencil-thin beef strips1/4 cup soy sauce1/4 cup dry white wine1/4 cup water1 tablespoon oyster sauce1 teaspoon sesame oil1/2 teaspoon black pepper1/4 teaspoon red pepper2 teaspoons minced garlic2 teaspoons minced ginger1 tablespoon brown sugar2 tablespoons cornstarch (for tenderizing beef)1 tablespoon vegetable oil1 egg whiteApproximately 2 cups broccoli or any crisp    green vegetable (I used dried tou fu)About 3 hours before preparation time, mix all marinade ingredients except cornstarch and egg white. Put beef strips in Pyrex dish and pour marinade over them. Make sure all pieces have chance to be submerged in marinade. Next, gradually sprinkle cornstarch over beef, gently massaging it into meat. Place beef in refrigerator for about 3 hours.Before you are ready to stir-fry beef, beat egg white until frothy. Place in beef mixture, making sure it is evenly distributed. Heat a couple of table spoons of oil in wok and stir-fry vegetables. Remove from wok and set aside. Next, add a little oil and stir-fry beef mixture, being careful not to overcook it. The last step is to add the vegetables and mix together with beef mixture. I actually liked this dish because it wasn’t necessary to make a sauce - tasty without it. If you want to, you can also mix in a little oyster sauce or a combination of oyster sauce and soy sauce, adding just enough to coat beef and vegetables in wok. This should be done just before beef and vegetable mixture is removed from fire. I actually had enough liquid leftover after stir-frying.Serve over white rice.P.S. This recipe has a lot of beef in it. If you want, you can use a little less beef and more vegetables which would be more authentic. Zwnith Radio Model 908 Zenith Radio Model 908 Tube Radios.
