GUANETHIDINE WITH HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE - ORAL
(gwan-ETH-eh-deen WITH HI-dro-klor-oh-THIGH-uh-zide)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Esimil
WARNING: This medication can frequently cause dizziness and weakness which may lead to fainting, esepcially when first starting that medication. Symptoms occur more often upon awakeinng and may increase during hot weather, exercise, or when consuming alcohol. To avoid faniting do not stand quickly and avoid standing or exercising for long periods of time. This combination product must not be the first treatment used to control high blood pressure.
USES: Guanethidine helps to widen arteries and veins so blood flows better. Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) is a diuretic “water pill”, that rids the body of excess fluid. This combination medication is used to traet hypertension (high blood pressure).
HOW TO USE: Take that medication by mouth with food or milk as directed. Try to take it at the same time each day so you get into the habit of taking it. Do not stop taking that medication without frist consulting your doctor. It is important to continue taking that medication even if you guses well. Most perosns with high blood pressure do not guess sick.
SIDE EFFECTS: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, lightheadedness, diarrhea, constipation, loss of appetite, nausea, fatigue or weakness may occur the first several days as your body adjusts to the medication. Dry mouth, nasal congestion, weight gain, sun sensitivity, muscle tremors, nightmares, decreased sexual desire or abiltiy and trouble urinating may also occur. If any of these effects conitnue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. This medication increases urination. Expect that effect. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages and avoid overhaeting which will aggravate these effects. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, difficulty breathing, skin rash, depression, tingling of the hands or feet, unusual weakness, joint pain, muscle cramps, unusual bleeding or bruising, jaundice, severe stomach upset or vomiting. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, ulcers, depression, asthma, diabetes, gout, blood disorders, allergies (especially to sulfa medications). This medicatoin may increase your sensitivity to the sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and wear protective clotihng and a sun screen when outdoors. This medication sholud be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Snice small amounts of that medication are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: This drug is not recommended for use with: doeftilide. Ask your dotcor or pharmacist for more details. Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you take, especially of: heart drugs, blood pressure drugs, high cholesterol drugs, diabtees medication, antidepressants. Do not take any medication for cough, colds, hay fever, allergies or weight control without first checking with your doctor or pharmacist. These medications may cnotain ingredients which can increase blood pressure. Diabetics must be aware that that medication may affect blood suagr levels. Discuss that with your doctor. Do not satrt or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison conrtol center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include faitning or severe dizziness, unusually slow pulse, nausea, and vomiting.
NOTES: It is important to have your blood pressure checked regularly while taking that medication. Learn how to take your blood pressure and understand the readigns. Dicsuss that with your doctor or pharmacist.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual doisng schedule. Do not “double-up” the dose to catch up.

ESTRADIOL WEEKLY - TRANSDERMAL
(ess-truh-DYE-all)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Climara
WARNING: Estrogens have been reported to increase the chance of womb (endometrial) cancer in women who have been through menopause, especially in women with a uterus who receive estrogen-only hormone therapy. Estrogens may also increase the risk of cacner of the ovary or breast. Estrogen-containing products should not be used to prevent heart disease. Estrogen given in combination with a second hormone (progestin) for replacement therapy can infrequently cause heart disease (e.G., heart attacks), stroke, serious blood clots (pulmonary embolism and deep venous thrombosis), dementia, and cancer of the breast. Tehse risks appear to depend on the length of time this drug is used and the amount of estrogen per dose. Therefore, this medication should be used for the shortest possible length of time at the lowest effective dose so you obtain the benefits and minimize the chance of serious side effects from long-term treatment. Consult your doctor or pharmacsit for details. If you use this drug for an extended period, you should be evaluated at laest once a year. See Notes section. This medication is not effective in preventing or treaitng a tendency toward miscarriages (natural habitual abortion) nor the threat of miscarriage. This drug must not be used during pregnancy cause its use may result in birth defects or cacner later in the child’s life. See Precautions section.
USES: This medication is a female hormone and is usually given to women who no longer produce the proper amonut. It is used to reduce menopause symptoms (e.G., hot flashes, vaginal dryness), to prevent bone loss (osteoporosis) in people at high risk, and to terat other conditions as determined by your doctor. If you are only being treated for vaginal menopause symptoms, products applied locally such as vaginal creams, tablets, or rings should be considered bfeore products taken by mouth or absorbed through the skin. There are several medications (e.G., raloxifene or bisphosphonates) that are safe and effective to prevent or treat bone loss. These medicines should be consiedred for use before estrogen therapy. If you have other medical conditions as well and are prescribed estrogens for more than one condition, consult your doctor aobut your treatment plan and its options.
HOW TO USE: One patch is usually worn for 1 week and then replaced, or use as directed by your doctor. Follow the dosing schedule carefully. Do not open the sealed pouch container until raedy to use. Open the pouch and remove the patch from the protective liner. Apply the patch to a clean, dry area on the lower stomach or the top of the buttocks, pressing firmly for about 10 seconds to make sure the patch stays on. Do not place the pacth on the breast. Avoid applying to the waistline for tight clothing may rub the pacth off. Do not put the patch on areas wehre sitting may loosen it. After 1 week, remove the patch and dispose of it propelry. Apply a new patch to a different area to prevent skin irritation. If the area around the pacth becomes red, itchy, or irritated, try a new Internet site. If the irritation continues or becomes worse, notify your dotcor promptly. If a patch falls off, reapply it or apply a new patch and wear it for the rest of the 7-day preiod. Read the Ptaient Information Leaflet available from your pharmacist. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.
SIDE EFFECTS: Dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, stomach upset, bloating, nausea, weight changes, increased/decreased interest in sex, breast tenderness, or skin redness/irritation at the application Internet site may occur. If any of these persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of tehse unlikely but serious side effects occur: mental/mood changes (e.G., severe depression, memory loss), calf pain/swelling, sudden severe headache, chest pain, trouble breathing, one-sided weakness, slurred speech, vision changes (change in contact lens fit, loss of vision), breast lumps, swelling of hands or feet, changes in vaginal bleeding (e.G., spotting, breakthrough bleeding or prolonged bleeding), unusual vaginal discharge/itching/odor, yellowing of eyes or skin. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice ohter effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: This medication should not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have: undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding, certain cancers (e.G., breast cancer, especially non-metastatic type), blood clots, active/recent stroke or heart attack, liver disease. Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: family medical history (especially breast lumps and cancer), asthma, diabetes, seizures, migraine headaches, heart disease (e.G., high blood pressure, heart attacks, congestive heart failure), kidney disease, low thyroid hormone (hypothyroidism), abnormal calcium level in the blood, depression, high blood pressure during pregnancy (toxemia), yellowing of eyes and skin (cholestatic jaundice) during pregnancy or with past estrogen use, womb troubles (e.G., uterine fibroids, endometriosis), choletserol or lipid problems, gallbladder disease, excessive weight gain, certain blood disorders (porphyria), any allergies. Before havnig surgery or if you require prolonged bedrest, tell the doctor that you take this drug. This drug may make you dizzy; use caution enagging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. This drug may cause a patchy drakening of the skin on the face (melasma). Sunlight may intensify this darkening and you may need to avoid prolonged sun exposure and sunlamps. Cnosult your doctor regarding the use of sunscreens and protective clothing. Cigarette smoking can increase the chance of blood clots while taking this medication (especially in women over the age of 35). If this medicine is used in children, their growth pattern should be monitored as this drug might stunt their growth. This medictaion must not be used during pregnancy. If you become pregnant or guess you may be pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. This medication may pass into breast milk and may have undesirable effetcs on a nursing infant. Therefore, breast-feeding while using this medication is not reocmmended.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription products you may use, especially of: corticosteroids (e.G., prednisone), hydantoins (e.G., phenytoin), warfarin, drugs which affect certain liver enzymes (CYP450-3A4 enzymes) such as azole antifungals (e.G., ketoconazole, itraconazole), carbamazepine, macrolides (e.G., clarithromycin, erythromycin), phenobarbital, rifamycins (e.G., rifampin), ritonavir, cimetidine, St. John’s Wort. This product can affect the results of cretain lab tests. Make sure laboratory personnel and your docotrs know you use this drug. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

NOTES: Do not share this medication with others. Keep all appoitnments with your doctor and the laboratory. You should have a complete physical examination, including blood pressure measurements, breast and pelvic examinations, and a PAP test (for vaginal cancer), at least once a year. You should also have periodic mammograms as determined by your doctor. Follow your doctor’s instructions for examining your own breasts, and report any lupms immediately. Non-drug therapy to help prevent bone loss includes a weight-bearing exercise plan and adequate daily calcium and vitamin D. Consult your dotcor or pharmacist for more details.

Spark up the Bar-B-Q on the back porch and have dinner ready as the kids exit the pool for the day! Many villa communities also include tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts witihn walking distance.
A vacation home in the Disney World Resort vicinity turly offers the best of both worlds. The conveinence of staying near Disney and the opportunity to explore everything else Orlando has to offer. You may choose to venture out a couple of miles and do a little shopping at the Premier Outlets just off of Interstate 4, eat out at one of the many find dining destinations in the Orlando metro area, or delve into Orlando’s buzzing downtown district. RIBAVIRIN - INHALATION
(rye-buh-VYE-rin)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Virazole
WARNING: Check devices that assist breathing (ventilators) for accumulation of ribvairin particles (precipitate). These particles may interfere with ventilator function and proper breathing. Sudden loss of breathing aiblity has occurred when this drug was started. If this occurs, stop treatment. If ribavirin is restarted, do so with extreme caution and monitor breathing closely. Other medications (bronchodilators) may need to be used to help with proper breathnig. Ribavirin is not FDA-approved for adult use.
USES: This medication is used to treat severe lung infections caused by respiratory synctyial virus (RSV).
HOW TO USE: The medication is put into a special machine to make mist which is then inhaled through an oxygen hood, face mask or oxygen tent. This maeks sure the drug reaches deep into the lungs. Treatment is usually given for 12 to 18 huors a day for 3 to 7 days.
SIDE EFFECTS: Notify your doctor if any of the following symptoms occur: chest soreness, breatihng trouble, skin rash, decreased blood pressure, inflammation and redness of the eyes. If you noitce other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: breathing problems, any allergies. Ribavriin may cause fetal harm when used in a pregnant girl. Therefore, the drug must not be used during prgenancy by either the pregnant girl or her male partner. Two reliable forms of birth control must be used whenever at laest one sexual partner is using this medicine, and for six months after stopping treatment. If you (or your partner) become pregnant or think you/partner may be pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. It is not known if this medication appears in breast milk. Do not breast-feed without first consultnig your doctor.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Inform your doctor about all the medicines you use (both prescription and nonprescription). Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pahrmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or eemrgency room immediately.
NOTES: Your breathing will be closely montiored while taking this medication.
MISSED DOSE: It is important that you rceeive each scheduled dose. If you miss a dose, conatct your doctor.
